  • Can I come in to test items?
    • Unfortunately, no. We cannot allow anyone into our warehouse to inspect items. This applies to both personal and staff purchases. We will, however, provide as much detail as possible—and photos—on each item to help you make an informed decision when shopping.

  • Are the items new/unused?
    • Property Disposition is responsible for the disposal of all university property designated as surplus by university departments. Items have typically been used unless stated otherwise. All items sold by Property Disposition are sold in AS IS condition. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds are allowed.

  • How can I place a bid on an item?
    • Make sure you ‘Sign In’ to your account before placing a bid. Online bids will not work if you are not signed in. When you find an item, you want to place a bid on, enter your bid amount & select ‘Place Bid’. A green bar will appear at the top of the page when your bid is successfully submitted. If your bid is too low, a red bar will appear instead & error message stating that you need to bid higher.

  • How do Online Bids work?
    • Online bids are an alternative to buying items on the Internet. We sell items to the person who bids the highest price. All bids start at a reserved price marked below our normal retail price (50%-100% off to start!) & as people submit their bids, the price will go up.
    • When you find an item you want to bid on, you submit a dollar amount higher than the current bid submission. If someone places a bid higher than yours, you will receive an email notification that you have been outbid. At that point, you can follow the link & place a new bid.
    • When the time has expired & the bid time frame has ended, an email will be sent to the winner, which allows them to purchase the item at the winning price.
  • How do I pay for my bid lot if I’m a winner?
    • When the bid ends, you will receive an email that you are the winner. The email will include a link you can navigate, add the item to your cart, and then proceed to checkout. Make sure you ‘Sign In’ to your account before clicking the winning bid link.
    • Please note you have ONLY 96 HOURS to pay once the bid has ended.

  • Payment methods
    • Customers can pay for their purchase with a credit card (using the Nelnet portal) or PayPal.
    • University departments also have the option to use a shortcode. You must be logged in using your UMich Login to see this option at checkout.

  • What happens if I win multiple bid lots?
    • You will receive an email for each bid lot that you win. You must click each link to add that bid lot to your cart. You can create multiple orders, depending on what items you add to your cart. Make sure you ‘Sign In’ to your account before clicking the winning bid link.

  • How do I know my order was received?
    • You will receive a detailed order confirmation email which includes your order number.

  • What if I want to purchase/pick up both eRetail and eBid items?
    • You can put eRetail and eBid items in the same cart and checkout.
    • You can also pick up multiple orders during the same pickup timeslot, and you’ll need to enter each order number (minus the zeros) in the Order Number field when scheduling through the Waitwhile app.

  • How long do I have to pick up my order?
    • You have five business days to pick up your order, starting from when you receive your Order Pickup email.

  • What are the pick-up days and hours?
    • When your order is ready, you will receive an email with a link to self-schedule a curbside pick-up date/time using the Waitwhile app during the following hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 - 11:00 AM and 1:00 - 3:30 PM. Friday 9:00 - 10:00 AM. (Unless otherwise posted.)
  • How does the curbside pick-up work?
    • Arrive at Property Disposition (3241 Baxter Rd, Ann Arbor) at your scheduled date and time.
    • Pull into one of the five designated customer pick-up spots available on the east side of the building (look for customer parking signage at the road).
    • There are two options for checking in once you arrive:
      • Check-In Option 1 - Click the Manage Booking button at the bottom of your booking confirmation email or the link in your booking confirmation text, and then click "I have arrived" to let us know you're here.
      • Check-In Option 2 - Scan the QR code on the sign in front of your parking spot and fill in all required fields. Click Confirm to complete the check-in process.
    • A team member will be out shortly after with your item(s).

  • Do I need to bring anything with me to my pick-up appointment?
    • If the Nelnet credit card portal was used for payment, you must present Dispo Direct staff with the credit card used to place the order before items are released. If you can’t do this, you must checkout using PayPal instead.
    • Please ensure you arrive with an appropriate vehicle to pick up your entire order. No partial orders will be allowed to remain on the premises.
    • Dispo Direct staff are not able to disassemble any items. If this needs to be done, you must bring your own tools.
    • Dispo Direct staff are not able to secure any items into your vehicle. If this needs to be done, you must bring your own tie-downs/supplies.

  • Can someone else pick up my order on my behalf?
    • When scheduling your pick-up appointment, enter the purchaser’s first and last name in the ‘First name’ field, and enter the pick-up person’s first and last name in the ‘Last name’ field. (As a reminder, you must present Dispo Direct staff with the credit card used to place the order before items are released. If you cannot do this, checkout using PayPal instead.)

  • What happens if I do not pick up my items within the timeframe listed?
    • Your item will be returned to inventory, and a refund will be applied to your original payment method. We reserve the right to suspend your account. The suspension may be temporary or permanent, depending on the severity and frequency of non-compliance.
